Ammy Coco says that, my mom was a big singer in the church, and my dad when I was a child he was teaching mea lot of songs, at school .. and my grandfather, he plays drum, so it is a musical family…. later on they see that I cannot do without music. Four albums later, Ammy Coco produces and writes her own material. Listening to her fourth album, Mama Africa you can hear musical styles including reggae, and hip hop as well as various African and Indian influences.
Popular with European and African audiences, Ammy Coco’s passion for music lights up the stage. Inspired by artists like Angelique Kidjo, M’Bilia Bel, and Miriam Makeba, among others, Ammy Coco is a confident performer who is as comfortable in the recording studio as she is in front of an audience. You know when you love what you are doing, you put the money inside …. I am recording another album, that is my life. I hope one day I will be a star, I am going for it.
