Kendra L. Willis is an award winning Author, Columnist, Financial Educator, and Certified Inspirational Speaker. Born and raised to a single mother in Oakland, California, Kendra knew firsthand the meaning of a struggle. Determined not to be a statistic, she realized early on that proper planning, education and determination, would be her tickets to success. As a pre-teen, Kendra won a coveted position as a paid on-air personality for a Fox affiliated program with KTVU Channel 2 news program, Kids Town News, where she worked for four years doing voice overs and news casting for the entire San Francisco Bay Area. Kendra later went on to attend San Francisco State University where she majored in Journalism and minored in Human Resources.

In her early 20’s Kendra noticed a disparity between job placement for minorities and with research and no outside funding, became the first and youngest, African American woman in the history of San Joaquin County, to independently own and operate a Staffing and Employment Agency. After providing over 1000 jobs to minorities and displaced employees, Kendra sold her Staffing Agency, and began to focus on other endeavors.  

Kendra then started a publishing company, and began to publish her own works and ghost write for others. She has written two nationally published fictional works, the first being an Urban Fiction, ‘Without Saying Goodbye,’ and the second a best-selling Christian Fiction, titled ‘No Faith.’ As Columnist, she has written for several California based newspapers and magazines, and had an on-going column in the Tracy Press for many years, which focused on the injustices of minorities living in the San Joaquin Valley.

At the age of 26 Kendra became a Certified Paralegal, and California State Licensed Life and Health Insurance Agent and then founded the W.I.F.E.S. Agency, (Willis Insurance, Financial Empowerment Services) a full service Insurance and Financial Brokerage Firm, with a focus on Financial Education in Inner City communities. Between 2005, and 2016, Kendra has helped over 1000 families to achieve their financial goals, through credit repair, financial literacy training, and investment opportunities. In 2015, Kendra aligned herself with World Financial Group, A Transamerica Company. World Financial Group is dedicated to bringing financial solutions typically reserved for the wealthy to people from all walks of life. In January of 2016, World Financial Group launched a National Financially Literacy Campaign to help empower the Middle American Family against common challenges.

As a current Marketing Director for World Financial Group, Kendra is committed to helping individuals and families understand that a proper financial foundation must be understood in order for wealth building to be possible. Kendra has set out to do hundreds of free seminars and presentations on Financial Literacy, where she will give her audience the tools needed to be financially independent and learn to be their own money managers.
