Latrica Stewart received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services from California State University Dominguez Hills in 2002, and Master’s in Science in Christian Counseling from Aenon Bible College, West Coast in 2012. In 2013, she consecutively received a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California and a PhD in Christian Counseling from the California University of Theology.



Formerly a Celebration I foster youth, Latrica Stewart is familiar with the challenges having come through the trials and difficulty of living in foster care. Latrica spent 14 years in care and endured many hardships. As a youth and adult, Latrica faced abuse, domestic violence, and homelessness. Prior to emancipating and completing high school, Latrica began college. Aging out of the system was one of the most difficult times in her life. For these reasons, Latrica has dedicated her life to being a foster youth advocate; helping improve the lives of foster youth by holding high expectations to those she mentors. She motivates and encourages youth to achieve excellence, understand positivity, self advocacy and good mental health.



Latrica has worked as a Counselor Aide with the Neglected Delinquent and At-Risk/ Foster Care Programs with the Los Angeles Unified School District. She assisted in helping foster youth as transition out of foster care to higher education, a vocation or trade. She has also trained staff and professionals about the challenges foster youth face in care and how to best assist them. Latrica has interned at Los Angeles Centers for Alcohol and Drug Abuse doing individualized and group therapy, as well as a spear heading the “Walk in My Shoes” Campaign that motivates and empowers the community on the lives of those who are under-served
