Friendly Discussion with CANDICE CLARK
BIOGRAPHY FOR CANDICE CLARK
Candice Clark is a 43-year-old mother of 4, she also has a one-year old granddaughter. She was the third born of two loving parents, who worked hard and did their best to care for her and her three brothers.
When she was 13, her mother and father took in a 6-month-old boy and a 2-year-old girl. They did this to save them from the life that follows someone dealing with crack cocaine as their parents did.
Candice grew up with trust issues, stemming from her bought with her weight. She was always bullied and set upon because of her weight. This caused a lot of stress in her life and it caused her to be watchful of people, places, and things. During this time, she learned how to stand up for herself and protect herself. Everyone else became the enemy and she started to view the world as a cold place. Because of her attitude she was put of the Hackensack School system and was sent to a slow learning school. This did not help her disposition and made her even more angry, because she realized that she didn’t have a voice in the way people controlled her life. With all this anger welling up inside of her, she got into an altercation with one of her teachers and knocked her unconscious.
Candice was always protected by her brothers, and one, who she was especially close to, died of cancer. Because other children feared her brothers, she didn’t grow up with many friends. Most of those who claimed to be friends were just associates. Her oldest brother is a heroin addict and she was advised by one of her other brothers to say away from him because he was going to get her and her children killed by his actions.
Candice comes from a family of hard drinkers, and this caused her to start drinking and smoking at an early age. It got to the point where it also led to her death, she was involved in a high-speed car chase. She crashed and was in the hospital in a coma, while she was in the coma her son called DYS on her, she says her children love her, but do not respect her and she has fought to regain her life. Even with these events transpiring before her she does love her children and cannot imagine life without them.
At an early age Candice asked her father about God and who he was. Her father taught her what he knew, and because of that she does know that God is real. He always told me to pray when things were good, and even when things were going bad.
When she was introduced to Mr. Thornton, his team has helped her out throughout the years and has given her back some of the belief that there are caring people in the world. During this time, she was in a domestic violence shelter called, SOS, and was asked to supervise her own support group. This group worked with women who needed support for the pain they had gone through as domestic violence survivors. At the time, she had to turn them down, because she was in a dangerous situation of her own and her family needed her more.
She does believe that God has not given up on her yet, the best is yet to come.
