Jean Marie Neal

BIO

Ms. Neal is a Tulsa native, and Program, Development, and Event Manager for the John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation.

Ms. Neal has received numerous awards and commendations for her socially conscious programming involvement, and grass-roots community participation. Ms. Neal is the recipient of the 2015 Pinnacle Award issued by the Mayor’s Commission, on the Status of Women for the City of Tulsa.

Ms. Neal founded In His Image International Ministries, host of the "Wounded Soldier’s Conference," producer/director of the television series Answers in the Word, an ordained minister, serving as the Pastor of the New Faith Baptist Church.

She has produced/directed numerous plays.  As Co-Director of the SunCaste Reader’s Theater Group, she has directed staged readings of the following: 1921: Tulsa In Flames- a compilation of readings from oral histories of riot survivors;  The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, and many others. Ms. Neal served as an advisor and writer for Tulsa Community College in the development of the “Play the Forgotten Glory” the historic Greenwood area, recounting memories of the 1921 Race Riot, the often overlooked reconstruction of Greenwood, and the struggles of Urban Renewal. Ms. Neal is completing her first screenplay and book on the 1921 Tulsa Race riot.” A Dreamers Torch”.
